AAusterity Birthday Party

The AA’s annual birthday celebration will this year focus around a reunion for our postwar graduates, 70 years on. Remembering AA life in those early years after World War Two, we will bring AA staff, students and members to- gether in the spirit of those times. The yearly Via Christina Foot Race will be a battle through the trenches of the Diploma Corridor, with afternoon tea waiting for the victors in the Lecture Hall. Performances will be dispersed throughout the evening including one organised by Didier Faustino whose exhibition in the AA Gallery, Undomesticated Places, will also open that evening. Your invite will take the form of a ration card, which you will need to collect your portions of food and drink.

Our one concession to luxury will be a colossal birthday cake that will be cut by a special guest of honour to launch a night of festivities to “make do and mend”.
